S This is a voluntary program put into place to help you, the farmer or large property owner, identify opportunities specific to your property and land use that could use some best management practices to protect groundwater & drinking water supplies. By choosing to participate in Farm-A-Syst you will receive the necessary tools to assess your property and help to recognize what is being done right as well as things that could use improvement. S For some basic information on what groundwater is and why it is important to protect it click here. For more in-depth information on groundwater refer to Fact Sheet 12. Groundwater, Aquifer and Watersheds and the end of this page. S You don’t have to read and fill out all the fact sheets and worksheets listed below. By taking the preliminary screening quiz you will figure out which work/fact sheets are most important for you to read and fill out. S To take the Preliminary Screening Quiz click here. information used in this program will lead to enforcement. Conservation
Districts are here to serve and help the people of their districts and
by working with them should not lead to passing information on to

The following two sections are
a bit different then the 11 listed above. Worksheet 12: Site Evaluation is quite
complicated and will most likely require assistance. This is to be done
after the selected worksheets have been filled out. Fact
sheet 12 gives a more in depth explanation about groundwater, aquifers, and
watersheds which may help
with understanding of the previous work/fact sheets.
